Lancashire Business View has released its July/August 2023 magazine, and it has this year’s top 100 Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Congratulations to the CDA’s (Construction Development Alliance) members B & E Boys for getting on the Lancashire Business View Hot 100 list.

What is the Lancashire Hot 100?

The Hot 100 list is an annual list of Lancashire’s 100 most profitable SMEs.

For 2023’s list, the judges chose to celebrate the businesses that have risen to the challenge of the pandemic, volatile price rises, and Brexit. The 100 companies have been able to deliver for the local economy through all these challenges and still keep that community spirit.

The businesses featured in the magazines hotly anticipated list have a combined turnover of £1.9bn and employ more than 11,000 people.

2023s hot sectors are construction, logistics, environmental and recycling.

The towns with the largesnumber of new entries are Accrington, Blackpool and Nelson.

The Lancashire Business View’s Hot 100 list has been released.

Thrilled to announce their position on the list, B&E Boys have made the top 100.

This list offers insight into the most profitable SMEs and highlights the backbone of Lancashire’s economy.

The construction sector dominates 2023’s list, making up 35%.

Dean Rodgers, accounts and advisory manager at PM+M accountants, who compiled the Hot 100 list, said, “The Lancashire SME market continues to show resilience and adaptability and contributes significantly to the local and national economy. The county is well positioned to continue attracting investment, fostering innovation and driving future economic growth.”

A key theme of 2023’s list was the bounce back from the uncertainty and challenging times of the pandemic.

B&E Boys began as a joinery business in 1961 and has grown into the construction, property investment and house-building company that it is today, with a workforce of nearly 60.
